Dessert art: Nutella brioche. Because it's right.
Why would we even look at the stars when we could just eat one made from bread and Nutella? Let's forget about Rosetta and that comet, let's study Nutella brioche! (With infographics!)
There is never a reason not to make Nutella brioche. It's not even that difficult to make your own bread dough!

NDSM: GENESIS
To know where you're going, you need to know where you've been #startedfromthebottom #nowthewholeteamfuckinghere.
NDSM has proudly risen - not from ashes, but something way cooler - and to plan for the future, we need to look to the past. We present:
Long before New Dessert Science Magazine was a twitter account, and long before it was even a blog, NDSM was an idea. A twinkle in a young, hungry scientist's eyes. That young scientist just couldn't be content with eating regular old ice cream anymore, and shouted NO! NO MORE! to the heavens, and decided to take her dessert destiny into her own hands. Inspiration struck, and our young scientist remembered that basically everything ever could be made 300% better by adding peanut butter. AND SO SHE DID.
And the rest, as they say, is history... or legend. Yes, legend, much better.. or a SAGA!

Could pie save your life?
As scientists, we are painfully aware that our planet is doomed. The way the world is going, everything around us is probably going to sink to the bottom of the ocean pretty soon. But until then, let's try to make the best of it! How, you say? Pie, I say!
As we are destined to turn the Earth into either a scorching dessert or a frozen tundra, let's see if desserts can be our savior. Our hypothesis:
Obviously, we all know that the motion of atoms and molecules creates a form of energy called heat, or rather thermal energy, which is present in all matter, even in the coldest voids of space. OBVIOUSLY. But how to make it work to your advantage?

Does making and eating blueberry pie make you less cold?

Alcohol and desserts
They say everything can be made better by alcohol. As scientists, we love testing theories!
Making desserts better than they already are is an ambitious feat, but it is our purpose in life. We decided to test if the formerly mentioned saying about alcohol could be applied to desserts as well. To remain objective, we decided to let professionals make the boozy dessert, and bought a massive slice of Bourbon Pecan Pie:

Our verdict: too bourbony. Not even whipped cream could make it better! MYTH BUSTED

SURPRISE!
You've been waiting for this. Get ready for it. We're finally revealing the results of that poll that has been up on this page for years now. There was no way for you guys to view the results before RIGHT NOW. I know you're all excited and stuff. So, GET READY FOR IT.
We are sad to inform you that we had to use a pie chart to tell you that cake is the winner in this poll. WE CALL DISCRIMINATION.
Also, the numbers didn't add up to a 100%? The Blogspot pollthing clearly doesn't know math.

IT'S A CAKESMAS MIRACLE!
Like Jesus itself on the very real first Christmas morning, NDSM has risen back from its ashes! That's the story, right? We're scientists, we don't know how Jesus works.
But we do know how to celebrate! With cake! And song! And cakesong!
We present "Carol of the Cakes":
Hark! How the cakes
Sweet tasty cakes
All seem to say
"Eat me today"
Cakesmas is here
Trans fats and cheer
To young and old
Both hot and cold
Yum yum ding dong
That is their song
With joyful ring
So much icing
Mouth shovelling
One seems to hear
Pies too appear
From everywhere
Filling the air
Oh how we pound
All cakes around
Fresh, even stale
All are for sale
Gaily they bring
Crumbs when they sing
Songs of cheer
Cakesmas is here
Merry, merry, merry cakesmas
Merry merry merry cakesmas
On, on they send
Cakes without end
Cinnamon, scones
To every home
Merry merry merry cakesmas
Merry merry cakesmas
Yum
Yum
Ding
Dong
